After marrying in New York nearly four years ago, it was an absolute pleasure to be asked to photograph Cathy & Anthony’s blessing back on her home soil surrounded by both their families.
Arriving in a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce, it was lovely to greet both the Bride & Groom together before they walked down the aisle as a couple. The ceremony was intimate, relaxed and full of laughter with readings from both Cathy and Anthony’s mothers.
We made the most of the sun and gorgeous surrounds of Budock church and the incredible view across Falmouth before heading over to Chycara where the reception would carry them all through to the evening. Set in beautiful grounds with a variety of ponds, bridges, lawns, tennis courts and a pool we weren’t short of anywhere to take photos that’s for sure!
Lanterns, bunting and candle light filled the marquee and path keeping a fluent and cohesive pastel colouring throughout with fresh flowers and lemonade on each table with some adorable miniature jam jar favours!
I knew I would love photographing this wedding from the moment I was asked (one of my closest and eldest friend is Cathys sister, so I grew up with the family!) but when the day came and I was there to witness everyone coming together to celebrate after a long time apart with the couple living in America. It reminded me how distance really means nothing when friends and family mean that much to you; and that’s what weddings are about - the joining of friends and family to celebrate not only the Bride & Groom becoming one, but the love and relationships of those around you too.
Thank you again Cathy & Anthony, I wish you the best future together in both America and back here in the UK! :)
